I just finished up this skull piece today! The original is for sale in my shop (http://store.koalaartanddesign.com/products/7448079-water-skull-painting-original) :)!
Here is a piece I worked on for a bit on my time off. Its not complete, but I had to leave it behind at a buddies because it wouldn’t fit in my bag to take it back home. Thankfully, they will be mailing it to me soon because I can’t wait to finish it! Its so close!
We were actually driving back from lunch when my friend mentioned how “we should paint”, and of course I jumped at that idea. Since I was staying with them I didn’t have any of my art supplies with me— which meant I had to buy all new stuff and then would have to leave it behind. BUMMER!!! So instead of spending hundreds on art supplies I’d never see ever again I decided to buy some cruddy paint, brushes and canvas and see what I could do. So the piece you are looking at is product of $5.00 Reeves Acrylic, $3.00 four pack of small brushes and a $2.50 12x18 canvas. I only had a few hours into the piece given it was the last day of the trip that we decided to paint, but hey I don’t think it came out half bad given the circumstance!

Weekend Shoot With Eric Emery
Hey Critters! It has a been a bit since I have written any updates or blogged but between the chaos of designing for the Fall release and my typical freelance illustration workload I have been a little all over lately.
This weekend I had the pleasure of shooting a good friend, Eric Emery. Eric hates taking pictures but somehow I was able to con him into letting me snap a few! WHY? BECAUSE I AM THAT AWESOME. (Totally kidding, you can ask him why he gave in). So of course I suited him up in some Koala gear and went on an adventure …to my studio room… that is five feet away from my computer… I party hard haha.
Also, take a minute to check out some of Eric’s projects. He is the vocalist of a melodic hard-rock band, Concordia and a Grammy Nominated Producer, Mixer, Engineer at Emery Recording Studios. The fact that this guy is only 22 and doing so much is insane to me! Its not very often you meet a young workaholic type, and one who is phenomenal at their craft at that!
